{Name Brands | Budget-nista Style} Why I Never Pay Full Price…

Hey Naturalistas!

I posted recently on Facebook about how all of the big named, marked down designer depots were closing! Daffy's, Filene's Basement and the latest casualty - Lohmans! These were places were a Budget-nista like myself would go to get name-brand goods at notoriously low prices.

With Loehman's and Daffy's closing… What is a girl to do about discounted designer goods? Marshalls is great for housewares and the occasional gem and such… But dude - Century 21 is too far away for a sister right now! LOLOL! #iaintevenbeenshopping #butjustwhenithoughtaboutit #iheardthenews

In that post, I only bemoaned the issues and didn't really offer any recourse or solutions, so I decided to sit and think about all of the other places out there that I go to get my name brand goodies!

Now with spring on our minds and Spring Break rapidly approaching, it's a great time to refresh our wardrobes with some good-good designer swag for less! Here is a great list of other places to shop for discounted designer fashion:

Gilt Groupe: This website is the best, but it requires a membership for access. I love how they ship their goods in black on black boxes with a gold embossed card with their name and a welcome message. I have purchased things like DAV boots and L.A.M.B. purses from them, but they also have housewares - including bedding, bath wear and budding new artists for your walls, their City tab helps you discover discount services tailored to your particular city, Travel discounts around the globe, men's apparel as well as children's toys and clothing! Currently, they have Longchamp handbags, 7 For All Mankind jeans and denim, Trina Turk and vintage Rolex timepieces, and Valentine's Day outings for sale…

The Real Real: This website is for the serious fashionista on budget! It's also exclusive and requires a membership to shop. Its consignment shopping on the edge of your seat with Cartier, Louis Vouiton, and other well heeled brands like Chanel! The prices are consignment shop worthy without leaving your living room. They have everything from purses to ball gowns…

Last Call by Neiman Marcus: This is a website that does not require a login and you can get alerts sent to your email about sales! The site features handbags, dresses and shoes that are all name brand and high end just like at the Neiman Marcus…

Nordstrom Rack: Now you can go to Nordstrom Rack in person or you can shop The Rack online! I am a big proponent of online shopping as you can see… Many department stores have free shipping deals if your purchase total equals a certain amount. From 60% off Cole Haan boots to $25 Halogen sweaters it's a great look to shop The Rack without having to go through the racks! I detest having to go dig through mountains of clothes that have been picked through…

Then there are the Big Four Marshall's, Homegoods, T.J. Maxx and Ross. The first two I love dearly, but you are going to have to go to the store to shop as they don't have online shopping. Although you can go to their sites and see what is being shipped to the stores, sign up for email on sales and locate the nearest stores there's just no way of getting around going into the store in person. The third, T.J. Maxx, has not only an online shopping site, but it also has Gucci, L.A.M.B. and Jimmy Choo shoes with a $99 minimum for FREE SHIPPING! Who knew?? Ross - Dress for Less is the lower echelon of the Big Four but it is not to be pushed aside thoughtlessly! When you need work clothes for those of us who are office dwellers, it's the place to go!

Now, there are other places to get 'the goods' like sample sales and the like, but I haven't been in the loop with those in a while.

What's your favorite discount designer shopping stomping grounds? Online or otherwise, we'd like to know!

Happy shopping,
