I am trippin! I just had to drop a class because going to school 4 days out of the week was a killer and I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with my assignments. Man, I have a paper to do RIGHT NOW!!! It won't be hard just time consuming and thoughtful... LOL I am going to go walk for a little while then come back to get it done before I hit the road.
So, now I am looking for a job for the summer...
I will probably temp doing some Medical Billing or something like that... I know I am going to make sure that this coming year I set up the all year pay so I don't HAVE to work the summer and I can be in Atlanta chillin'....
I am so used to teaching every summer like I have for the past 3 years but Balitmore City School's administration procedures are SO F'D up because of my supervisor hating me I can't get a job there... Doesn't that just bite?? Anywho, I wouldn't want to be surrounded by her all summer anyway, so God is good. As usual.
I drop off my daughter to my mom for the summer this weekend so that is one more thing off of my plate meaning now I can cut off the cable and all buying all of that extra stuff she eats and likes because she won't be here. I am going to miss her when she is gone though; she is such a sweet little girl even though she is going thru the "tween" stage right now, she has such a beautiful spririt. I am so blessed.
I am getting ready for my house and all and I can't wait to be able to move and everything. I am just wondering how I am going to get it all done but not really because I know that God will make a way like he always does.
I went back to see the first students I taught graduate from Lincoln High School in Philadephia this weekend! I was so happy to see that they made it!! As well as who made it!! I was upset because one student I knew was having some issues didn't walk, but she will get her diploma over the summer after she takes ENGLISH!!! OF ALL CLASSES!! LOL All of them recognized and hugged me after graduation and I took pictures with them. One of them had a baby and I was totally surprised but she made it and she is going to school so she will make it after all...
It was crazy becasue a lot of the other teachers and administrators were like: Are you gonna come back??? We told you don't go to Baltimore!! And BOY were they right! LOL It is sad that I didn't listen but my life is going where it should so I am not too too upset... I am glad that I came back to see them I was tired and I wasn't going to go but my mom pushed me liek you need to keep your promise and she was right! I am glad she was here because we stayed up to about 1 am the night before and I really didn't think I could do it; the drive to Philly and back, but it was okay. I almost fell asleep on the road back, but I made it!
They are all going to college!! Every last one of the kids I taught and most of them got honors and scholorships to schools and from other organizations!! I know that I am going to have to leave Baltimore City schools because the problems they have are systemic and will not be eradicated for years to come.
I don't have that kind of time.
